Manhattan Short Film Festival 2025
MANHATTAN SHORT Film Festival 2025
Come and view 10 engrossing short films from around the world at the Manhattan Short Film Festival. Many past shorts have been considered for Academy Awards; two have even won the coveted prize. But this isn’t entirely a passive viewing, as you will vote for your favorite short film and favorite actor.
As anyone who has been to this event knows, this is one hot ticket—so be sure to get yours in advance! All seven showings feature the same 10 short films. The program is roughly 2 1/2 hours, including an intermission, but give yourselves extra time to fill out your ballot.
And remember, YOU BE THE JUDGE! You will be given a brochure and a voting card so you can vote for your favorite actor and favorite film. Winning filmmakers receive cash and/or filmmaking accessories to further their talent, and they will have their short reviewed by the Academy Award Committee, with the possibility of having their film in the running for an Oscar.
Stay tuned for this year’s exciting MANHATTAN SHORT lineup!

Dia de Los Muertos 2025
community celebrations:
On Saturday, November 1, the museum will be transformed by Community Celebrations that are memorable, beautiful, and deeply rooted in cultural significance. This year, two ceremonies presented by Alice Mendoza will be held at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., with free tickets required to attend. The day begins with a joyful procession of children dressed as butterflies, leading guests along a flower-lined path into a museum vibrant with music, art, and activity.
At the heart of the celebration is a traditional ofrenda—a colorful, multi-paneled shrine created by artist Araceli Cruz—where visitors are invited to add mementos and stories honoring loved ones who have passed on. Guests can enjoy samples of champurrado (traditional Mexican hot chocolate) and pan de muerto, participate in make-and-take art activities, receive traditional face painting, and listen to strolling musicians performing Mexican folk songs.
