Gig Harbor is a regional draw and a local favorite for shopping, dining, movie going, golfing and recreation and it enjoys a healthy tourist draw as well. As you can see from the average home price, Gig Harbor is one of the more affluent cities on the Peninsula and has a reputation as such.

Beer drinkers will want to visit 7 Seas Brewing Taproom and cocktail connoisseurs will love tastings Heritage Distilling. For an outdoor adventure in Gig Harbor head to Kopachuck State Park for some tide pooling and a serene setting or walk/bike/run the Cushman Trail, a 6 mile journey to the Tacoma Narrows Bridge. Gig Harbor’s awesome view of Mount Rainier adorns calendars and travel books around the world and it enjoys miles of shoreline and deep water bays, spectacular golf courses and summer camps, bird watching and cycling. Gig Harbor is the Peninsula's playground; sailing and pleasure boats line the many marinas waiting to sail into one of the many coves and inlets in the area. Three state parks offer day use facilities, beach access and hiking and biking as well.
