the Viking mural

18864 Front St Ne, Poulsbo

On the side of Boehm’s Chocolates a wooden ship full of fierce-looking shield and axe-wielding Vikings sail confidently on rolling turquoise waters. The mural swallows your field of vision - there is no avoiding this epic scene of Poulsbo’s Norwegian pride and power. Now is the time to strike your best Viking pose! Valley Nursery Gnomes

20882 Bond Rd NE, Poulsbo

Anyone with a green thumb on the Kitsap Peninsula knows Valley Nursery. Poulsbo’s long standing favorite for all things growing and green, this sprawling nursery is filled with whimsy and wonder in the form of ‘life sized’ carved wooden gnomes. Anyone familiar with the drive from Poulsbo to Kingston will recognize the friendly gnomes and we recommend a stop at VN if ONLY to say hello and snap a selfie…but you’ll likely walk away with a few new bulbs and blooms too!

port orchard

under the sea

715 Bay St, Port orchard

One of our favorite pieces of public art is also one of our favorite selfie spots too. Downtown Port Orchard’s ‘Mermaids Lagoon’ is a 100 foot long underwater scene of sunken ships, ancient ruins, and playful sea creatures that stretches the length of the open gravel alley beside the Port Orchard Public Market. This colorful, dynamic scene always has some new detail that emerges and is loved by locals and visitors alike. Dive in while you enjoy a treat from nearby Good Stuff Grocery or Carter’s Chocolates.

brothers greenhouse, hobbit house, two small children explore Port Orchard hobbit house

Brothers Greenhouse

3200 Victory Dr SW, Port Orchard

Just a few minutes off the highway, where Bremerton meets Port Orchard, lives a magical garden and nursery called @brothersgreenhouses. Known by locals to be a wealth of plant varieties and knowledge, what endears them to us most, is the hobbit house. No two visits to the hobbit house are the same, as the seasons change, so the hobbit house changes to meet the next season. It’s the perfect place for visiting families to explore and spend time in nature. But be warned, you might end up packing a plant souvenir or two on your return trip.

bainbridge island

Pia the Peacekeeper

1560 Madison Ave N, Bainbridge Island

There are currently 5 Thomas Dambo trolls in WA - and one lives in Kitsap! Pia Peacekeeper radiates calm kindness and invites the viewer to step closer and notice the little details of the giant troll sculpture. You’ll want to snap a ton of photos and take some selfies you’ll never forget! One more reason to hop a ferry or make the drive to Bainbridge Island for an adventure.

pegasus coffee

131 Parfitt Way SW | bainbridge island

Pegasus Coffee is downright beautiful on every level. Pegasus occupies a beautiful building on Bainbridge Island - the rustic brick nearly enveloped by the lush, creeping ivy - selfie worthy to say the least! Their interior is equally photogenic and you may just feel photogenic too noshing on one of their amazing macrons, waffles + berries or a slice of pie! Once inside, if you’ve managed to evade snapping a pic, you’ll be swayed by a set of ‘angel’ wings mounted on a beautiful blue wall. Selfie paradise!

bremerton

Quincy Square

405 Washington Ave, Bremerton

Bremerton’s newest - and BIGGEST - piece of public art is a colorful homage to Quincy Jones and black leaders that helped shape Bremerton. Located on Washington Ave in downtown Brem (a stone’s throw form the Roxy Theatre in Quincy Square) this mural can be seen from a mile away. The bright colors ad dynamic design draws your eye in and across the massive canvas.

Rimbert illustration

617 N Callow Ave, Bremerton

Rimbert Illustration is a hub for creativity, art, music and personal expression! A First Friday Art Walk staple on Callow Ave. Rimbert Illustration also rocks a crazy cool The Beatles mural that pays homage to the famous Abbey Road album cover. Music & art lovers will adore it!

kingston

CB’s Nuts

6013 NE State Hwy 104, Kingston

‘YOU HAVE ARRIVED’ states the super colorful mural outside of CB’s Nuts as you enter Kingston on HWY 104. It’s your sign to pull over and grab some snacks, snap a few selfies and gear up for your North Kitsap adventure!

suquamish

Chief seattle’s grave

7076 NE South St, Suquamish

Make no mistake, this is sacred ground. A visit to the Suquamish Chief’s gravesite is a special opportunity to reflect on the life and legacy of a leader that helped shape the course of history. Please make your visit a respectful one as you enjoy the story poles that flank the headstone. This is a place of reverence and remembrance and an invitation to learn more about the Suquamish people. Dive deeper with a visit to the nearby Suquamish Museum which is within walking distance of Chief Seattle’s gravesite.
