Sandy Hook Beach Shack | Poulsbo
The Shack is tucked into the woods on the beach. Enjoy the marine views, beach walks, peace, and its central location between Poulsbo & Winslow. Just a ferryboat ride from Seattle, you won't waste a day getting your vacation started. The Shack has a full kitchen with all the dishware and pots & pans you may need. There's a gas fireplace for instant ambiance and a wood stove for snowy nights. My cabin is perfect for adventurers who miss going away to summer camp. *2-person limit, adults only*
The space
Welcome to the beach! Our darling woodsy cabin is nestled in the trees on the beach of Sandy Hook. Once an old WWII coast watchers shack, it has been a beloved vacation cabin for 50 years. The cabin is privately situated within a quiet family compound of other cabins. There are many relaxing and enjoyable areas to explore around the grounds including a Chinese pagoda, a Mexican pool cabana, hammock, and swing. Great beach combing, and good sand on a low tide.
The cabin is perfect for two with a queen sized bed in a sleeping alcove. There's a romantic gas fireplace for instant ambiance as well as a wood stove if you really want to heat things up. Guests love the vintage 1950's yellow bathroom (back when they knew how to make a bathtub). A fully equipped kitchen with a Webber BBQ on the view deck makes for easy alfresco meals.
Guests have travelled from all over the world to vacation at the Shack. Novels have been written here, music composed, relationships strengthened, and major life decisions made. The Shack is your retreat away from the noise of your life.
Guest access
Guests can enjoy the Shack with parking for one car. Guests are also encouraged to explore the grounds and the many view seating areas. The beach and pool are accessed via a walkway by the Chinese Pagoda.
Other things to note
We start off your stay with a bottle of complementary wine. We also make sure you have a stocked coffee and teas basket so your first morning begins on a high note.
If you can't go cold turkey and unplug, the WiFi password is on the fridge. But soon the eagles fishing and the seals frolicking out your windows will be far more interesting than your screen.
Although the Shack is not ADA compliant, it is one level from parking area to cabin. Thresholds, carpets, and slight level changes abound however. Folks with canes, walkers, and rolling walkers have enjoyed the Shack. The grounds are not accessible to those with mobility issues.
