LOCAL: Poulsbo is Perhaps Kitsap’s Best Boozy Little City!
‘Beer,’ said the oft-quoted Benjamin Franklin, ‘is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy.’
We would wholeheartedly agree while adding wine and whiskey to the list! Kitsap (and the PNW in general) is known for its craft beer, spirits and local wine and there is no place that best represents Kitsap’s boozy side than the city of Poulsbo!
Let’s dive face first into Poulsbo’s craft beer and wine scene and explore some local favorites…

VALHÖLL BREWING
Nothing screams ‘Poulsbo’ like Valhöll Brewing! This beloved Viking themed brewery has been serving up suds since 2010 and has a cozy, wood-accented kid-friendly tasting room. Grab a picnic table outside during the summer and don’t forget to fill your growler before you leave!

WESTERN RED BREWING
One of the newest entries into the Poulsbo beer scene is Western Red Brewing. WRB has a kid-friendly tasting room that evokes PNW logging history and feels like a true neighborhood gathering place. WRB has a banquet room that can be used for events and a Mug Club that gives members discounts and benefits - learn more on their website!

RAINY DAZE BREWING
Because we have more than our fair share of rainy days around here, we love the oh-so-flavorful liquid sunshine that Rainy Daze produces! We are partial to their signature Goat Boater IPA, a bold citrus forward beer with the perfect amount of dry hops. Rainy Daze has a spacious tasting room and hosts food local trucks on the weekend.

HARD HAT WINERY
This Veteran Owned winery was founded by 2 retired navy divers and their wines pay homage to the bygone era of diving with large metal dive helmets…or hard hats! This relatively new winery is quickly making a name for their exceptional wines, especially the Decompression Chardonnay. Raise a glass and celebrate Washington’s robust wine culture.

State 42 Wines
This small, family-owned winery specializes in cool climate Whites and Rosés from Underwood Mountain, and balanced Reds aged in French Oak made from sustainably grown grapes. State 42 Wines’s tasting room on Front St. in downtown Poulsbo is the perfect place to gather with friends to sip and swirl.
…there really is no wrong way to DRINK Kitsap!
