How did the idea of starting Brass Kraken begin?
“The three of us all met bartending many years ago in Milwaukee, WI. A great friendship developed between us and we began talking about opening our own establishment combining our various experiences in the industry.”

The Genesis
Tell us the story of how Brass Kraken came to fruition.
“It was a bit by accident. We already had an established pub in Milwaukee. One of our owners had lived in the Seattle area previously and fell in love with the area. The space we currently occupy became available. The three of us thought it would be a great location to bring our Milwaukee pub experience and combine it with the PNW vibe. It has been a great experience and we have been warmly welcomed by the community.”
The Drive
Tell us what/who drives you to keep working hard towards your goals.
“We take pride in offering quality food with a fun and friendly pub atmosphere. We want to provide that neighborhood pub feel for our guests to relax and enjoy time with their friends. We also want to provide a supportive working environment for our staff who are the key to our success.”

Tell us your fave local drink spot - coffee, tea, wine, tequila, whatever!
“We focus on local craft beer at our pubs so we love to support our local Breweries! Slippery Pig, Rainy Daze, Silver City, Western Red, Valholl, and Downpour.”
Tell us your fave local spot for a comfort meal - what do you always order?
“There are many great choices! We tend to gravitate to Pho T&N, New Leaf Pho, Isla Bonita, and Punjab Indian Cuisine the most. We are big fans of Pho! It is a great comfort meal.”
Live Kitsap
Out-of-town guests are coming for the weekend. What is the most important thing you share with them about the Kitsap Peninsula? Where do you absolutely have to take them?
“We always share with them the amazing outdoor activities and overall beauty of the area. We have many friends visiting us from Wisconsin, so we’ve become great tour guides over the past 5 years! Kayaking, hiking, and visiting the beautiful waterfront areas of each Kitsap town are always on the list. We make sure to spend time walking through all the shops that make Poulsbo the great place that it is for guests and we especially make sure to get a small brewery tour in as well.”
Thrive in Kitsap
Where are your favorite places to get outside? What do you do when you go?
“We love to get on the water when possible. Our pub is on Liberty Bay and joining friends for a day on a boat is always a blast.”
