Earrings by Sol
About Marisol
What was your first job?
“My first job was Paramount Property Management Group (My Dad is the owner of the company so I have worked there and helped out since I was pretty young!!)”
Where do you draw inspiration/creativity in your life?
“Anywhere and everywhere. I love looking through color pallets and plant shops or other little stores. I often create earrings based on clothes I own and take from the prints and colors to create collections!”
About Earrings by Sol
How did the idea of starting Earrings by Sol begin?
“I’m currently a senior in high school. Last year my ceramics teacher, Mr. Disney, introduced me to polymer clay and showed me the jewelry I could create for all of my Christmas presents. I loved the idea and really ran with it. After those presents, I made a few pairs for myself and began to sell them!”

The Genesis
Tell us the story of how Earrings by Sol came to fruition.
“In the beginning sales were pretty slow. I took the beginning of quarantine to really research, work on my craft, and analyze what customers would be looking for. After that, things picked up pretty quickly! I was (and still am) super lucky and blessed to have such amazing support from friends and family. I hope to soon be setting up a website as well!”
Tell us what/who drives you to keep working hard towards your goals.
“I’ve always been someone who has to be working on some craft project all the time. Making earrings has just been something I’ve loved doing for the past year. With so much time on my hands the last few months, it helped me get creative and put my energy into something! Seeing people wear my art and feel beautiful and empowered in it is what keeps me motivated to keep going.”
Love Kitsap
Tell us your fave local drink spot - coffee, tea, wine, tequila, whatever!
“Cafe Elite for on the go and Whiskey Gulch to sit and work on homework at the same time!”
Tell us your fave local spot for a comfort meal - what do you always order?
“Spiros (also a Love Kitsap fave!), and I always get a mushroom/olive/spinach/sausage pizza!!”
Live Kitsap
Out of town guests are coming for the weekend. What is the most important thing you share with them about Kitsap? Where do you absolutely have to take them?
“I enjoy taking people down to Josephines Mercantile in downtown Port Orchard. It’s my favorite little antique store and I love showing everyone!”
Thrive in Kitsap
Where are your favorite place(s) to get outside. What do you do when you go?
“I absolutely love to go kayaking and hammocking near the Southworth ferry. In the summer, Anderson Point is my go-to for a nearby beach day. In the winter, I love driving around Beach Drive in Port Orchard and watching the sunset!”
