This little known but much-beloved park is one part pine forest, one part wetland, and one part hidden beach (hence, cove). 184 acres of hiking, galavanting, swimming, picnicking, wildlife watching, beach combing and exploring.

the stumphouse
The Stumphouse is a giant tree stump adorned with a miniature shingled roof. The kids will want to crawl inside, and you’ll want to snap pics!
Stumphouse Trail is a 1/4 mile walk off the main trail to a giant stump of a behemoth tree that was logged in the 1890s - when much of the region’s old growth trees were cut down. You can see the notch cut in the side of the stump where loggers placed the plank that they stood on while they sawed at the massive trunk.
